The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) is uniquely positioned as an all-industry trade association, representing the interests of every segment of the Frozen and Refrigerated Foods industry. Headquartered in Harrisburg, PA, NFRA is the sponsor of the March National Frozen Food Month, June Dairy Month, June/July Ice Cream and Novelties promotion and October Cool Food for Kids educational outreach program. NFRA holds the annual Retail Executive Conference in April and the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in October.
The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) is the national trade association that promotes and represents the interests of all segments of the frozen food industry. AFFI fosters industry development and growth, advocates on behalf of the industry before legislative and regulatory entities, and provides additional value-added services for its members and for the benefit of consumers.
In addition to collecting information and encouraging the exchange of ideas, the association aggressively promotes more efficient distribution services, aids members in adopting new technology, advises members of legislation and regulations affecting the food industry, assists members in complying with U.S. and international regulations, and participates in alliances with industry and international organizations having a common interest in the safe and efficient flow of food products around the world. All active members of IARW are also members and beneficiaries of the work of The World Food Logistics Organization.
Food Marketing Institute (FMI) conducts programs in public affairs, food safety, research, education and industry relations on behalf of its 1,500 member companies — food retailers and wholesalers — in the United States and around the world. FMI’s U.S. members operate approximately 26,000 retail food stores and 14,000 pharmacies. Their combined annual sales volume of $680 billion represents three-quarters of all retail food store sales in the United States. FMI’s retail membership is composed of large multi-store chains, regional firms and independent supermarkets. Its international membership includes 200 companies from more than 50 countries. FMI’s associate members include the supplier partners of its retail and wholesale members.
The National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) is the national trade association representing the retail and wholesale grocers that comprise the independent sector of the food distribution industry. Along with affiliated associations, manufacturers, service suppliers as well as other entrepreneurial companies that support N.G.A.’s Philosophy and Mission.
Founded in 1964, IDDBA has evolved over the years to reflect the changing scope of member needs in the dairy, deli, bakery and related industries. IDDBA members meet the challenges of today’s business world by exchanging information and ideas, participating in educational programs, and networking. IDDBA helps its members (manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, brokers, and many others) enhance their economic position by providing opportunities for professional dialogue, education, exchange of industry data and selling opportunities.
