Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart is partnering with Salesforce to give retailers access to local fulfillment and delivery solutions. Announced last month, the deal allows retailers to utilize both the Walmart Commerce Technologies Store Assist local fulfillment app and Walmart GoLocal local delivery solutions, available through Salesforce AppExchange.

Store Assist allows retailers to optimize in-store fulfillment and offer seamless handoff to customers or third-party delivery drivers (BOPIS), while GoLocal gives retailers of all sizes access to white-label, delivery-as-a-service technology.

“Customers today expect seamless in-store and online experiences with convenient fulfillment options, but creating and managing these complex in-house, omni-channel solutions can be a challenge for retailers,” according to a Walmart press release. 

“Through this partnership, retailers can leverage the same innovative and scalable technologies that power Walmart’s pickup and delivery experiences,” said Anshu Bhardwaj, senior vp of technology strategy and commercialization for Walmart Global Technology.
