Leading temperature-controlled logistics provider East Coast Warehouse & Distribution, Elizabeth, N.J., announced last month that its sister company Safeway Trucking Corp. has acquired the assets of Allied Brothers Intermodal, Inc.

Also based in Elizabeth, Allied offers both local and long-haul drayage in the Northeast, and its food- and beverage-focused customer base aligns well with Safeway’s. 

“The acquisition of Allied will strengthen and increase Safeway’s overall driver capacity at a time when driver recruitment and retention is a top priority,” said East Coast Warehouse CEO Jamie Overley in a press release.
