Mount Laurel-N.J.-based RLS Logistics grabs a spot among nation’s top 10 temperature-controlled storage and logistics networks with its acquisition (through affiliate RLS Partners) of Hutt Trucking and Logistics, Holland, Mich.

Now known as RLS Hutt, the new addition connects the niche deep frozen food manufacturing industry in the Great Lakes region with RLS’s national network of warehouse partners, which now encompasses more than 55 million cubic feet of cold storage capacity. Ken Whah will serve as Hutt’s president and lead its efforts in the Great Lakes region.

“RLS Hutt’s expertise in deep frozen cold storage and distribution allows RLS to offer new and unique services to existing and potential customers,” says CEO Russell Leo.

RLS also recently acquired Salt Lake City-based Performance Cold Storage (now RLS Performance), giving it a presence in the Front Range region. The deal includes a 130,000-square-foot facility, allowing two-day service to 11 Western states.
