Hormel Foods, Austin, Minn., adds Oven-Ready Thick Cut Bacon to its Hormel Black Label lineup. Described as the first product of its kind, the patent-pending new item comes in its own disposable, oven-safe tray so consumers never need to touch raw meat or “babysit the frying pan.” The premium, thick- cut bacon is ready to eat in about 20 minutes — no cleanup required. Packed 10 to a case, each eight-slice, 9.3-ounce package is expected to retail for $6.98 to $7.99.
