Atlanta-based Wewalka Trading Corp. (wewalka.us) launches a lard-free, refrigerated pie crust designed for desserts made with a single crust, eliminating the waste associated with two-crust packages. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, the home-style dough contains no artificial colors or flavors, bleached flour, hydrogenated oil or high fructose corn syrup. Plus, it’s 25% thicker than the leading crust, making it easier to handle and more substantial “for true pie crust lovers.” Packaged with a parchment paper liner, each ready-to-bake, 11-inch round makes a single standard 9-inch pie. SRP is $2.99 for a 9-ounce package, packed seven to a case.
