Los Angeles-based SANA Foods (sanafoods.com) debuts a pair of plant-based gluten-, grain and dairy-free frozen burritos made from low-impact crops. Both vegan and paleo (a category first, according to the manufacturer), the product offers a plant-based alternative to the classic rice and bean burrito by wrapping riced cauliflower and breadfruit in SANA’s sustainably made organic coconut flour tortillas. Billed as the healthiest, most eco-friendly burrito option in the frozen aisle, the no-prep product comes in two Non-GMO Project-verified flavors: Traditional (with onions, tomato paste, carrots and chili powder) and Fajita (with added jackfruit, fajita veggies and spices). Each 5.5-ounce burrito (12 to a case) carries a $4.99 SRP.
