Austin, Minn.-based Hormel (hormel.com) expands its Mary Kitchen Hash into the frozen breakfast set, the first time in 70 years the product has been offered outside the can. Available varieties include traditional Corned Beef Hash and Turkey Sausage and Sweet Potato Hash, each made with a blend of meat, roasted potatoes, onions, bell peppers and a touch of seasonings. Easy to prepare with no additional ingredients, both deliver 9 grams of protein per serving. Two additional flavors — Breakfast Hash (with pork breakfast sausage and bacon) and Superfoods Hash (with corned beef, sweet potatoes, kale, carrots, mushrooms, peppers and peas) — will debut later this year. Packed 10 to a case, each 18-ounce, four-serving bag is expected to retail for $6.49 to $6.99.
