Smithfield Foods, Smithfield, Va., launches a collection of refrigerated plant-based proteins under its new Pure Farmland (pure-farmland.com) brand. The gluten- and dairy-free lineup features eight fresh, versatile products made in the U.S.A. with complete soy protein, coconut oil and natural flavors: Burger Patties (four per package) in Simply Seasoned and Cheddar (with dairy-free cheddar alternative), Meatballs (12 per package) in Homestyle and Italian Style (with dairy-free parmesan alternative), Breakfast Patties (eight per package) in Savory Original and Maple, and Protein Starters in Simply Seasoned and Mild Italian Style. The Pure Farmland collection is offered in sustainable 16-ounce trays (breakfast patties are in 12-ounce trays) made with more than 50% recycled material. Packed eight to a case, all eight SKUs are expected to retail for $6.99.
