Building on the “runaway success” of its Jacksonville, Fla., cold storage facility, FlexCold announced plans to open a second warehouse in the U.S. in late summer 2024. The $50 million facility will be strategically located within 30 minutes of the Port of Charleston near the company’s Charleston, S.C., headquarters. It will offer more than 30,000 cold storage pallet positions, blast freezing, USDA and FDA inspections and a range of other services in support of critical import and export businesses, including seafood.

Opened in fall 2022, the Jacksonville facility is already at 95% occupancy, according to the company, which plans to continue its aggressive expansion. Additional announcements are expected later this year.
