Broomfield, Colo. and White Plains, N.Y.-based Danone North America launches plant-based milk “that doesn’t taste like plants” under both its Silk (silk.com) and So Delicious (sodeliciousdairyfree.com) labels. Intended to bridge the gap between traditional dairy drinkers and plant-based beverage consumers, Silk Nextmilk and So Delicious Dairy Free Wondermilk boast a rich, creamy, “dairy-like” mouthfeel but contain 30% fewer calories than dairy milk and no lactose. They’re also an excellent source of six key nutrients found in dairy: calcium, vitamin D, vitamin A, B12, riboflavin and phosphorus. Both brands are offered in Whole and Reduced Fat varieties. SRP is $4.99 for a 59-ounce carton (six per case). Danone is also launching So Delicious Dairy Free Wondermilk Frozen Desserts, including both pints (Vanilla, Chocolate Cocoa Chip, Cookies & Crème, Strawberry and Buttery Pecan) and cones (Vanilla Peanut Sundae and Salted Caramel Sundae).
