 (Baytown, TX) – Blackline Cold Storage, LLC (blacklinecoldstorage.com) and affiliates (“Blackline”) broke ground Wednesday on a 298,000 sf cold storage facility. It is to be owned in partnership with Artemis Real Estate Partners at the Port of Houston. The facility, to be opened in 2022, will provide about 70 new jobs when the first phase is complete. The 36-acre site in TGS Cedar Port Industrial Park provides room to expand to 658,000 sf. 

The rail-connected site is in the heavy-haul corridor near the Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals. It has quick access to regional interstate highways. 

The Tippmann Group is doing the design and construction. The facility will have flexibility for multiple segregated temperature zones (including blast freezing capability). It will feature 48’ ceiling heights and up to 50 truck doors and rail connectivity. The building will be the newest large-scale cold storage facility at the Port of Houston.
