SCENES FROM THE 2023 NFRA SHOW

The 2023 National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) Show welcomed a record 1,600 attendees from every sector of the industry. More than 5,000 business appointments were con- ducted during the annual event, which was held at the Marriott Marquis in San Diego last month. In addition, more than 50 manufacturers showcased their products at the highly anticipated Taste of Excellence opening reception. Other companies sampled their products at the always popular NFRA Café, which served as a hub for networking and collaboration (and snack breaks).

During the 79th annual membership luncheon, the NFRA elected new officers and board of directors members for the coming year. Chairman-elect Neil Ritchey thanked outgoing chairman Kevin Schwab for his service to the organization, and the board recognized the contributions of current NFRA president and CEO Jeff Rumachik, who will retire at the end of this year. The organization also inducted Joe D’Alberto and Skip Shaw into the Refrigerated Food Hall of Fame.

At the Awards Luncheon on the closing day of the show, NFRA presented Golden Penguin Awards for exceptional achievements in marketing and merchandising to top retailers, manufacturers and brokers.

The 2024 NFRA Convention will be held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., Oct. 5 to 8. Registration opens March 1.
