Lineage Logistics celebrated the opening of its new Savannah Fresh-Port Wentworth facility late last month. Located near the busy Port of Savannah (Ga.), the 220,000-square-foot facility is expected to help handle an influx of fresh produce to Mid-Atlantic ports that lack sufficient space to keep up with demand.
Savannah Fresh-Port Wentworth boasts 23 inbound and outbound lanes that can process up to 40 trucks and move up to 1.4 million pounds of produce per day. It also offers cross-docking services so products can enter and exit the facility the same day if needed, reducing storage time, creating cost efficiencies and ensuring consumers receive fresh produce faster.
