FASTEST FROZEN
Sales of frozen products in supermarkets, drugstores, mass merchants, military commissaries and select club and dollar stores combined topped $18.32 billion during the 12 weeks ended March 26, up 6.4% compared with the same period a year ago, according to Chicago-based market research firm Circana (circana.com), formerly IRI and The NPD Group. However, unit sales tumbled 5.7% to 3.61 billion.
For the 52 weeks ended March 26, dollar sales shot up 8.8% to $77.27 billion while unit sales fell 5.3% to 15.69 billion.

During the 12 weeks ended March 26, sales of refrigerated products in supermarkets, drugstores, mass merchants, military commissaries and select club and dollar stores combined totaled $32.88 billion, a 9.1% increase versus the same period a year ago, reports Chicago-based market research firm Circana (circana.com), formerly IRI and The NPD Group. However, unit sales fell 4.3% to 7.91 billion.
For the 52 weeks ended March 26, dollar sales jumped 12.1% to $141.37 billion while units dropped 3.1% to
34.99 billion.
