Arcadia Cold Storage & Logistics announced it will lease and operate a new cold storage facility west of Phoenix that will improve service to customers in key Western U.S. locations. Currently under construction, the state-of-the-art facility is the fourth the Atlanta-based company expects to open in Q3.
The site boasts 293,000 square feet with 40,500 pallet positions and is designed to support a combination of regional distribution, import-export activity and high-volume throughput handling services. It will serve as a Southwest hub with access to key metropolitan areas in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.
“The facility represents our westernmost site to date and will satisfy our customers’ need for a well-designed and -operated building to help manage their product storage and handling requirements,” says Arcadia Cold CEO Chris Hughes. “We see strong demand in Phoenix as supply chains continue to gravitate slightly eastward and away from increasingly operationally challenging points in Southern California.”
