The Giant Co. is adding four electric vehicles to its Giant Direct delivery fleet. The vans are expected to save more than 9,000 gallons of gas and prevent nearly 172,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions each year. They can travel 108 miles per charge and will be used to deliver groceries to households in Philadelphia.
The vehicles are part of the Carlisle, Pa.-based supermarket chain’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, and the company plans to add more all-electric vehicles to its fleet in the next several years
