FURLANI HONORED FOR PACKAGE REDESIGN

Mississauga, Ontario-based Furlani Foods Corp. took home a PAC Global Packaging Award at the organization’s annual awards ceremony in New York City Feb. 7. Furlani’s 2023 Best in Class award came in the Brand Marketing Revitalized-Food category in recognition of its 2022 packaging redesign.

Launched last April, the new brand identity is intended to better connect consumers with Furlani’s purpose: to transform everyday meals into extraordinary meal experiences. The new look includes food-forward photography, an updated wordmark and a warm orange and gold color scheme that reflects the brand’s optimism, comfort and family friendliness. Updated packaging also features a new QR code that connects consumers to serving suggestions and recipe ideas.

“The new look [is] eye-catching, memorable, clear in communication of benefit attributes, as well as preferred by our retail customers, loyal consumers and new shoppers to the brand,” says Furlani’s head of marketing Jackie Brenkel.

It’s an “unconventional aesthetic” not seen elsewhere in the category, adds Vania Campagnaro, group account director at Furlani’s agency partner Davis. “[Garlic bread] is a fun product and should have the look and behavior to match.”

Intended to celebrate the craft of package brand design and innovation, PAC Global Awards recognize the best packaging in the world each year.
