POE TIMMONS
EXECUTIVE VP, COO & CFO, JENI’S SPLENDID ICE CREAMS
Timmons has been breaking down barriers since 1994 when she became the first female partner in Deloitte & Touche’s Columbus, Ohio, office. She’s been with Jeni’s for nearly six years and has been instrumental to the company’s stellar growth, according to CEO John Lowe.
But Timmons counts expanding and continually improving Jeni’s fellowship model of doing business as one of her greatest professional achievements. “We operate as a community in partnership with the growers, makers and producers who supply the ingredients for our ice cream,” she explains. “And I am very proud of our commitment to source first from women-, minority-, LGBTQIA- and family-owned businesses…[so they can] grow and prosper as we grow and prosper.” She’s big on mentoring, too: “I cherish being part of helping five individuals — so far — become CFOs themselves.”
Timmons is also passionate about A Kid Again, a non-profit she helped found in 1995 that sponsors fun-filled activities for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Created to honor the memory of a young cousin with leukemia who passed away as a child, the organization offers “hope, happiness and healing” for sick kids and families in all 50 states.
