Los Angeles-based Califia Farms (califiafarms.com) expands its dairy-free, non-GMO lineup with a plant-based alternative to heavy whipping cream. Made from a coconut oil base, unsweetened and unflavored Heavy Whip can be swapped one-to-one for dairy-based whipping cream in everything from soups and dressings to desserts and whipped toppings. The gluten-free, vegan product is offered in 16.9-ounce cartons packed six to a case. SRP is $4.89.

Beyond Meat (beyondmeat.com), El Segundo, Calif., expands its plant-based chicken portfolio with two kid-friendly options that mimic the taste and texture of their animal-based counterparts. Made from a blend of faba beans and peas — and no added antibiotics, hormones or soy — pre-cooked Beyond Chicken Nuggets and Beyond Popcorn Chicken offer 14 grams of plant-based protein and 0 mg of cholesterol per serving. Plus, they contain 50% less saturated fat than a leading brand of traditional breaded chicken nuggets. Offered in 10-ounce bags packed eight to a case, both items can be prepared in an air fryer in less than 5 minutes. SRP is $5.99.
