During the 12 weeks ended Oct. 30, sales of frozen foods in supermarkets, drugstores, mass merchants, military commissaries and select club and dollar stores combined topped $17.74 billion, a 9.9% increase compared with the same period a year ago, reports Chicago-based market research firm IRI (iriworldwide.com). However, unit sales tumbled 5.8% to 3.57 billion.
For the 52 weeks ended Oct. 30, dollar sales jumped 7.6% to $74.77 billion while units fell 5.0% to
16.02 billion.

Sales of refrigerated foods in supermarkets, drugstores, mass merchants, military commissaries and select club and dollar stores combined hit $32.32 billion during the 12 weeks ended Oct. 30, up 12.7% versus the same period a year ago, reports Chicago-based market research firm IRI (iriworldwide.com). However, unit sales fell 3.1% to
8.01 billion.
For the 52 weeks ended Oct. 30, dollar sales shot up 10.0% to $135.03 billion while units dropped 2.7% to 35.48 billion.
