Chicago-based Quorn (quorn.us) debuts a line of vegetarian Meatless ChiQin featuring a sustainably sourced mycoprotein core coated with extra crispy breading. Previously available only at restaurants, the plant-based fried chicken alternative is available in two formats: Wings and Cutlets (Homestyle and Kickin’). The soy-free, non-GMO meat substitutes offer 14 to 16 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber per serving. They can be prepared in an oven or air fryer in as few as 12 minutes. Packed eight to a case, the frozen wings (in 10.2-ounce packages) and cutlets (in 9.2-ounce packages) are expected to retail for $4.49 to $4.99.
