Philadelphia-based Honor Foods, a business unit of Burris Logistics company (burrislogistics.com), will begin operations at its new $50 million warehouse and office at 5505 Tacony Street on Monday, Jan. 11.
The move by the 70-year-old foodservice redistribution company will be to a 20-acre parcel within the former Frankford Military Arsenal site. The expansion will allow Honor Foods to broaden its product portfolio to better serve its nearly 800 customers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states. The company’s final day of business at its North 5th St. location will be this Thursday.
More than 100 new jobs will be created at the new location in its first ten years, allowing a significant increase Honor Foods’ business. The company worked closely with the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation to identify a suitable site within the city.
