Gerber Products Co. (gerber.com), part of Arlington, Va.-based Nestlé, enters the frozen aisle with a line of premium, organic toddler foods made with veggies and whole grains. Offered under the Freshful Start brand, the heat-and-serve collection includes three single-serve bowls (Tomato Basil, Mac & Cheese and Southwest Style) and two veggie bites (Yellow Carrot, Kale & Quinoa and Broccoli, Lentils & Cheddar), all made with simple, natural ingredients and no preservatives, artificial flavors or colors. They’re designed for toddlers 12 months and up. The 4-ounce bowls (seven per case) are expected to retail for $3.49 and the 8-ounce bites (four per case), $5.99. The line is currently available exclusively at Target.
