Bakersfield, Calif.-based Bolthouse Farms (bolthousefarms.com) debuts a new line of carrot-based “swaps” that consumers can use as an alternative to popular meat- and carb-heavy staples. Offered under the Bolthouse Farms Wunderoots label, the collection includes: grill-ready Carrot Dogs made with whole (not chopped or formed) carrots and other simple ingredients (Classic American-Style, Chorizo-Style and Sweet Italian-Style); Carrot Fettuccine paired with flavorful sauces (Marinara, Spicy Thai Basil and Red Coconut Curry) and Riced Carrots with sauce (Sesame Stir Fry, Green Chile and Yellow Coconut Curry). The Carrot Dogs come in eight-count, 19-ounce packages while the Carrot Fettuccine and Riced Carrots are offered in 15-ounce packages, all intended for the produce aisle. Packed six to a case, all three carry a $4.99 SRP.
