Plant-Based Truffles

The French Patisserie (, Pacifica, Calif., introduces plant-based Chocolate Truffettes (French for “little truffles”) under its Looka Patisserie brand. Also available for private label, the artisanal vegan treats are made with premium chocolate and other natural ingredients and no added sugar. Current flavors include Dark Colombian Chocolate, Chocolate Peppermint and Chocolate Passionfruit. Additional varieties, including seasonal offerings, are also in the pipeline. Shipped frozen and sold chilled (21-day shelf life), Truffettes come in clear clamshells so consumers can see the product inside. Available sizes include 3.5 ounces/20 to 22 pieces (SRP $4.99 to $6.99), 5.64 ounces/30 pieces ($5.99 to $8.99) and 13 ounces/80 pieces ($15.99 to $17.99). Containers are packed 12, eight and four to a case, respectively.
