Pasquale’s Frozen Pizza Expands

HUMBOLDT, IA. (November 13, 2019) – Pasquale’s Frozen Pizza today officially set the assembly line in motion at its new, state-of-the-art production facility in Humboldt, Iowa. The 35-year-old company moved from a 4,500 square foot space into a 16,000 square foot space which allows for increased production capabilities and storage.

At the official opening, the ribbon wasn’t cut, it was sliced!

“The demand for Pasquale’s Frozen Pizza is rapidly increasing and this move was crucial to our growth strategy,” said owner David Stockdale. “The new equipment and increased freezer space will allow us to expand our distribution, broaden the product line and produce privately for other companies.”

Stockdale purchased the building located on Humboldt’s main street that was previously occupied by Fareway. The space was gutted to the studs and Stockdale was then able to create an ideal floorplan that will help Pasquale’s keep up with increasing demand and continued growth.

With the new equipment and larger freezer storage, the team at Pasquale’s will now be working to increase distribution.

The Pasquale’s frozen pizza line currently has over 30 different flavor combinations including traditional crust, self-rising crusts, red sauce, white sauce-based pizzas, ranch dressing pizzas, and breakfast pizzas. “We’ll keep testing and creating new pizza flavors that will appeal to our Midwest-located customers,” said Stockdale. “Creating a quality product is what keeps our loyal customers coming back for more.”

Stockdale has positioned his company, Pasquale’s Food Service, as a resource for other companies to produce private label frozen foods in the new factory. He sees the future for the company being more than just pizza. “We purchased versatile, modifiable equipment which opens up opportunities both for the Pasquale’s Frozen Pizza and the Pasquale’s Frozen Food Service brands.”

The Pasquale’s story started in 1959 when brothers Marvin and Pat, or their traditional Italian names Mario and Pasquale Stockdale, both opened a pizzeria in Fort Dodge – one of the first in Iowa. Marvin became the sole owner in the 60’s and moved the restaurant to Humboldt, Iowa. In 1980, Mario started experimenting with frozen pizzas and in 1984 Pasquale’s Food Service started producing frozen pizza using only the freshest ingredients. To date, Pasquale’s can be found in over 200 retailers throughout the Midwest.
