Premium Small-Batch Ice Cream

Edwardsville, Ill.-based dairy cooperative Prairie Farms ( rolls out a new line of premium small-batch ice cream made with a short list of simple, natural ingredients, including milk and cream from local, family-owned dairy farms. Offered in 1.5-quart scrounds, the collection includes 19 year-round flavors (both classic and specialty), several of which were developed specifically for the small-batch line (Double Dark Chocolate, Brown Butter Maple, Caramel Praline Pecan, Cherry Chocolate Funk, Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Malted Milkshake and Peanut Butter & Banana). The company will also rotate in six new seasonal flavors, starting with Pineapple Upside Down Cake (through June 19). Packed four to a case, each 48-ounce scround is expected to retail for $3.99 to $4.99.
