Hip Chick Farms Organic Chicken Brand Adds New CEO to Leadership Team

Sonoma-Based “Farm to Freezer” Chicken Brand Hires Former COO of Belcampo Group & President of Sustainable Food Trade Association As New CEO

Hip Chick Farms (, a frozen foods brand that’s organic, ethical, and tenderly delicious has hired Nate Morr as its new CEO. Nate’s extensive leadership and operational background, as well as his record of sustainability and environmental justice, will allow the brand’s Founders to meet the rapidly growing demand for organic, frozen poultry while working side-by-side with a key leader who shares their values and mission.

Hip Chick Farms is an ethical, organic frozen poultry company that offers products such as chicken meatballs, gluten-free chicken nuggets, and organic chicken fingers.  It’s distributed widely through Whole Foods, Sprouts, Kroger and multiple grocery stores across the U.S.

The Hip Chicks brand has experienced great growth and innovation, particularly in the last year, with 300% YOY growth and a launch at Kroger stores nationwide, more than doubling Hip Chick Farms’ distribution to nearly 2,000 stores nationwide.  Late last year, Hip Chick Farms also introduced a cornucopia of new products: organic chicken fingers, organic meatballs, organic turkey patties, organic breakfast sausages, as well as natural chicken fingers and natural meatballs.

Serafina Palandech will continue to lead the brand as a founder and driver of sales, and is set to expand marketing, product innovation, and customer happiness. Chef Jennifer Johnson will continue to create and develop innovative new products for the brand.

The founders had been searching for a new CEO to help scale operations in order for the brand to meet the growing demand for frozen foods. They found the perfect fit in natural foods leader  Nate Morr.  Morr has almost 20 years of experience in the organic and natural food industry, and is a leader in the field of agricultural business and corporate social, economic, and environmental sustainability ecosystems. He’s worked with multimillion dollar, global food companies, managing operations for businesses of $30MM+ in revenue, where he has always focused on the “triple bottom line”: People, planet, and profit.

Nate also helped start and presided over the Sustainable Food Trade Association, which provides critical support in helping to build the capacity of the organic food trade to transition to integrated sustainable business models.
